A cadence is a reusable multi-step outreach sequence. It defines what happens to each contact: which emails to send, how long to wait between steps, when to branch based on conditions, and when to assign tasks.
Creating a New Cadence
- 1
Go to Cadences in the sidebar.
- 2
Click 'New Cadence' (or use the dropdown to select 'New from Template').
- 3
Enter a name and optional description.
- 4
Use the visual builder to add and connect nodes.
- 5
Configure each node's settings (email content, wait duration, conditions, etc.).
- 6
Save your cadence — it starts in DRAFT status.
- 7
When ready, click 'Publish' to create an immutable version that can be used in campaigns.
Available Node Types
| Node | Purpose | Configuration |
|---|---|---|
| Start | Entry point of the cadence. Every cadence must have exactly one. | No configuration needed. |
| Send Email | Sends an email to the contact. | Subject, body (HTML/text), template selection, variables. |
| Wait | Pauses the sequence for a specified duration. | Duration in hours/days. |
| Condition | Branches the flow based on contact behavior. | Condition type (opened, clicked, replied). |
| Task | Creates a manual task for a team member. | Title, description, assignee type, due date offset. |
| Goal | Marks a conversion/success point in the sequence. | Goal label for analytics tracking. |
| Notify | Sends an internal notification to your team. | Notification label and message. |
Start with a simple sequence: Start → Email → Wait (3 days) → Email → Goal. You can always add more complexity later.
